Novel technologies and changing environmental conditions present new, unexplained, and complex risks with unknown health impacts. The evolving nature of warfare and conflict in the 21st Century requires that VA adopt a proactive approach for readiness and response to these emerging threats to provide care for current and future Veterans.

CETC is a national VA center to study and evaluate novel, complex and poorly understood exposures of interest (current priorities: Explosive Ordnance Disposal exposures and Anomalous Health Incidents)

CETC is a sub-center of the Washington DC War Related Illness and Injury Study Center (WRIISC) which is a program within VA Health Outcomes Military Exposures (HOME).
