Research Overview

WRIISC research focuses on improving the health of Veterans with post-deployment health concerns. WRIISC researchers and clinicians work together to identify promising new treatments and incorporate evidence-based care for our Veterans.
WRIISC research covers a wide range of topics including military environmental exposures and post-deployment health, treatment for post-deployment illnesses including Gulf War Illness, integrative health and wellness approaches, and risk communication of deployment-related concerns. WRIISC also houses three specialty centers that conduct research on airborne hazard exposure, complex exposure threats, and women Veterans' health.

One of the ways that WRIISC disseminates its research findings is to publish in scientific peer-reviewed journals.
