Military Occupational and Environmental Exposure Assessments

Person writing

When a Veteran is referred for WRIISC clinical services, our team may decide that the Veteran would benefit from a military occupational and environmental exposure assessment. This assessment helps guide ongoing care at their home VA.

WRIISC military occupational and environmental exposure assessments include:

  • A clinical records review of military occupational and environmental exposures
  • A clinical interview with a military exposure expert detailing military exposure history and risk factors
  • Education on the latest research findings about health effects linked to these exposures

These assessments are conducted through virtual health.

Preparing for the WRIISC Military Occupational and Environmental Exposure Assessment

To help make the most of your WRIISC clinical visit, we ask that Veterans:

  • Update their VA record with any relevant non-VA medical records
  • Provide any correspondence that documents military occupational and/or environmental exposures

For more information, Veterans can contact their VA primary care provider to see if a WRIISC referral may be indicated or contact the the WRIISC serving their area.
