Exposure-informed care is creating and maintaining an environment of care in which toxic exposures and their potential impact on your health are always kept in mind. You matter! Military exposure concerns are common and impactful. VA is committed to providing exposure-informed care.

VA is committed to providing high-quality, exposure-informed care to Veterans. You can expect your health care team to listen, acknowledge, learn, and work with you on the shared mission of effectively assessing and addressing your military environmental exposure health concerns.
You should always speak with your health care team about exposure concerns. You can be confident that exposure-informed care is integrated into:
- The care you receive from your VA health care team.
- Communication and interactions between your health care team, you, and your family.
- Education and training of team members and care professionals across VA.
The VA Resource Navigator helps Veterans find information about key VA services and benefits, including how to enroll in VA health care and how to apply for benefits. It provides web links, phone numbers, and QR codes.
- The Toxic Exposure Screening Navigator at their local VA facility:
- All Veterans enrolled in VA health care can receive a toxic exposure screening at an upcoming appointment or sooner by contacting a toxic exposure screening navigator.
- Talk with their VA health care team:
- Call 1-800-MyVA411 then press 3 to connect with your local VA Medical Center or visit: local VA facility
- Send a secure message to your clinical care team through your patient portal: My Health eVet at: www.myhealth.va.gov or My VA Health at: patientportal.myhealth.va.gov
- Veterans may contact Environmental Health Coordinators about registry evaluations or health concerns related to military exposures.
- Veterans Exposure Team-Health Outcome Military Exposures (VET-HOME):
- VET-HOME is VA's new national hub serving Veterans with military environmental exposures. Any Veteran enrolled in VA health care can contact VET-HOME for a free Military Environmental Exposures Assessment via telehealth. Call 833-633-8846 or visit the live chat on the VET-HOME Portal Monday-Friday 9AM-7:30PM Eastern time.
