Complementary and Alternative Medicine (CAM)
What is Complementary and Alternative Medicine?CAM is used to describe health care practices that are not your usual conventional medical treatments. They can include, but are not limited to the use of herbs and vitamin supplements, meditation, relaxation techniques, yoga, massage, Reiki, movement therapies, and acupuncture. Do you provide CAM programs at the Palo Alto WRIISC?Yes. The Palo Alto WRIISC offers a Mind/Body treatment program for Veterans with chronic health conditions such as pain and fatigue. Primary care physicians can make a referral in the Computerized Patient Record System (CPRS) by completing a WRIISC Yoga consult form. Our classes and schedule is listed below. Class ScheduleWe now offer the following classes free of charge for Veterans who are eligible to receive healthcare at the Palo Alto VA and are cleared for participation by their primary care clinician.
How to enroll?Clinicians complete a "WRIISC Yoga" consult in CPRS for eligible Veterans.
