CPRS Instructions for WRIISC Referrals

WRIISC Home > Referrals > CPRS Instructions

VA Providers can initiate a referral to the WRIISC by completing the following steps:

  • In CPRS, select the Veteran you wish to refer. Select the Consult tab. In the menu bar select Action then New then Consult. In the Consults to Service/Specialty field, start typing WRIISC or War Related Illness. Choose War Related Illness and Injury Study Center/location where location is your regional WRIISC site. Click on the Accept order button. A window may appear with a brief description of the program and local contact information. Please make note of this contact information in case you have questions later.

  • Click the Continue button and the WRIISC Consult Template screen will display.

  • Complete all required sections of the template and click OK when you are done. Your referral will be sent to the clinical coordinator and the Veteran will be contacted for more information.

    IMPORTANT: After making an IFC, please call the WRIISC closest to you to ensure receipt. The WRIISC coordinators will review the consults to ensure that the Veterans meet the eligibility criteria for the program.
