Complex Exposure Threats Center (CETC)

About Us

about us

  • Novel technologies and dynamic occupational and environmental conditions present new, poorly understood, and complex military exposures with unknown health impacts. The evolving nature of warfare and conflict in the 21st Century requires that VA adopt a proactive approach for rapidly and effectively respond to these emerging threats to provide the best care and benefits for current and future Veterans.

  • CETC was established in October 2022 as a sub-center of the Washington DC War Related Illness and Injury Study Center (WRIISC), which is a program within VA Health Outcomes Military Exposures (HOME) to further focus on complex and emerging exposure threats.

  • CETC is a national VA center to manage, evaluate, care for, and study Veterans and VA Cohorts of new, complex and poorly understood military occupational and environmental exposures. Current priorities include: Explosive Ordnance Disposal exposures and Anomalous Health Incidents.
