Integrative Health and Wellness at the NJ WRIISC

Integrative health and wellness treatment techniques are increasingly being recognized as valuable components of comprehensive treatment plans for Veterans with chronic health problems, including, but not limited to pain, difficulty with sleep, and fatigue. The NJ WRIISC is currently conducting studies looking at several of these techniques in our Veteran population and assessing the optimal way of providing these services to a large number of Veterans. We have also partnered with our host facility, the VA New Jersey Health Care System, to provide each of the Veterans that we see with a personal introduction to a range of available treatment modalities.

During one-on-one patient education sessions, the NJ WRIISC uses the STAR Well-Kit: an educational introduction to Integrative Medicine modalities for Veterans interested in learning more about health and wellness practices.
