Program Description: This training is put on by the War-Related Illness and Injury Study Center (WRIISC) within Health Outcomes Military Exposures (HOME). VA is committed to addressing Veterans’ post-deployment and exposure related health concerns, and educating healthcare staff on the unique healthcare needs within this population. The Military Exposures Clinical Briefs Series are 30-minute interview-style briefs where experts provide quick, hands-on skills for working with Veterans who have military exposure concerns. Capt. Richard Schreckengaust, the Navy Bureau of Medicine’s Undersea Specialty Leader, and Dr. Stephen Fischer, Associate Director for Clinical Operations at the Washington DC War Related Illness and Injury Study Center (WRIISC), join Dr. Nicole Sullivan, Clinical Psychologist, to discuss the environmental and occupational exposures relevant to Navy divers, and how healthcare professionals can address related health concerns. This live-virtual, knowledge-based training is appropriate for interprofessional healthcare teams.
